first we need to understand what sound your are trying to minimize here. are you referring to the sound generated as a result of the rolling blades, or other sounds which could be as a result of malfunction.. some sounds could be caused as a result of dryness, so u need to check the coils sometimes and grease them. also as a result of friction that occurs between the suspending support, it may result to wearing and sometimes tearing and eventually a whizzling sound. so u just need to check all these stuffs and once you found out the reason for the noise, then you can solve the problem..#
