An underwriter is a person who reviews and calculate the eligibility and risk factors of insurance and/ or reinsurance applicants.
The word ( underwriter ) date back to times when group of investors shared the cost and the risk of sea voyage.
They wrote their names and the amount of their investment , underneath the description of the ship , it's cargo and the voyage.
