for me its better to tell the salary to your applicants so that they can decide if they continue or pursue there career to the company they applied for. some companies dont tell or reveal their salary to its applicant i dont knw why but for an applicant its better to knw first the offer before they get the job

If the salary is revealed in the very beginning, it is quite possible that a very valuable and highly skilled candidate may back out of his or her pursuit of employment. It has been my experience that for such candidates, it is sometimes an option to approach higher management to discuss a better offer of salary and package, taking into consideration the candidate's qualifications and the contribution that they could make to the organization.

However, there are times when the salary for certain positions and in certain situations where the salary is absolutely fixed and when many candidates would be called for interview. It is better at the time of discussing a possible interview over the telephone to go over the position, the responsibilities and any questions that the candidate may have - also discussing the salary range for the position. This would give the candidate a chance to decide if the position would be suitable and offer enough salary for his or her financial responsibilities. In this way, time is saved by only having actual candidates who may be able to take up the position for interview.

There are reasons for making the salary apparent from the beginning and also reasons for keeping the salary offer for the second interview. It honestly depends on the position and the situation.

@Maryam and @Anna.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I feel that Salary should be disclosed in the initial stage itself. If the candidate is comfortable with the offer they can proceed. This can avoid the hazzle of declining the offer at the last moment. Moreover if the Panel wants to offer him a better package after the interview they can do it.

Some candidates are sceptical about the type of role and work culture. For them sometimes salary won't be much of a constrain. In such cases even if the salary is not disclosed most candidates would look at the Job Description and carry forward.
