In branding, what is your method to choose corporate colors?

Usually when choosing certain colors Or what we like calling as the color palette of a certain brand especially corporate ones, always refer to the mission and vision of this company.
Thus you can form easily something called as the tone of voice and by that you can link your color palette to the tone of voice of this company and what message it wants to convey to the public whether its friendly, environmental, competent, daring...
etc.
by that you can choose your colors by referring to color semiotics and what meanings are hidden behind each color.
Sometimes if you have a variety of colors that are linked to a company's goals vision and mission it wouldn't be a bad idea to findout what will you get when mixing these colors keeping in mind they should still reflect the company's tone of voice .

Depends on products/services: Food, speed, superiority > Red/warm colors Intelligence, smart, IT > Blue/cool colors Organic, furniture, estate > Brown Efficient, environmental, trust > Green Exotic, stylish > Purple

Choose strong colors, one or combination that is close to Your company or producuts, but strong in the same time to send a message and be recognized.
