How to insulate the hot water pipes in maintenance when the insulation get damaged ?

1.insure that the hot water flow valve is closed.

2.trying to find the damage source.

3.pipe inspection  for corrosion.

4.turn the insulation layer around pipe,bye using the same insulation material or if i decided to choose  another material or insulation type according to the environment condition if it changed around the pipe , .

 for sure all these steps after the pipe cooled
