What are the relevance of body language in multicultural communication?

There is a huge cultural diversity around the globe. Each person has his own way of communicating and expressing himself depending on his nationality and upbringing. While there are some gestures which are offending to some, it is always best to study one's culture, specially those whom you will be dealing with so to learn the things to avoid and things that we should do to earn respect.
