What exactly is meant by mutli tasking? How do you define multi tasking?

Multitasking is an ability of someone to organize and to perform several tasks/ duties at same time where they have almost or same level of importance/ eminence. 

Multi tasking means ability to work in different areas for the organizational need.

In computing, multitasking is a method where multiple tasks (also known as processes) are performed during the same period of time – they are executed concurrently (in overlapping time periods, new tasks starting before others have ended) instead of sequentially (one completing before the next starts).

As It defined itself Multiple tasks on a single job..If I talk of me... I used to do computer operating, receptionist, calls handling , database managing , reporting directors , sometime packaging also

Multitasking is performance by an individual of handling more than one job at the same time. The term is derived from computer multitasking.

In simple words it is time management, although it is not that simple.

It's a capability to handle multiple different work with an equal importance level without decreasing result quality too much.

Obviously we face many work in one time all the time.

walking and chewing a gum is certainly not multi tasking. Multi tasking a more complex than it seems. It is a skill that is increasingly in demand in the market due to lack of space employment of  more people to work on a project or a particular job. What it means is, if for example you are put to work on a project that has a specific timeline and dynamics, your project is becoming a primary task for you, but however, you are still to perform your daily tasks defined by your job role. It means that you are to perform your primary and secondary tasks adequately without compromising the performance or result of any of them. Sometimes it is very hard to distribute your energy and knowledge to two or more tasks at the same time. But if you are able to do so, you are more of a worth to your employee for  more reasons. There reasons are saving resources to your company, completing the tasks in timely manner and providing your employer with confidence in your abilities.  

My example of multi tasking on a previous job role:

1. Leading a project of  development of a shopping center (specific timeline and works dynamics)

2. Conducting marketing activities for the company (general, everyday)

3. Maintaining the company website and corporate profile (everyday)

4. Contract and Terms negotiations with potential partners and tenants (everyday)
