There are different approaches being practiced in different regions of the globe by different teachers. It is a common trend that we proceed to the more complex ones by taking a start from simple ones.
This formula is true both in techniques and in use of material.
I have been teaching English Language since1993. To my top dexterity, I have found that the learners of English language never grow the sense of mechanical things in their personality. Like, when I teach them Syntax and morphological rules, they always go aloof. However , some have got good memory to reuse the catered knowledge . All the learners usually have one thing very common if they are directly taken to some situation they begin to speak. And this leads them to be the fluent speakers ......
i think by conversations and ideas conflicts .
In Middle East, I would say the trend is the introduction of English as a second language as early as possible in an attempt to foster bilingualism. I should also mention E-learning as a new trend.
