I agree with the answer of Mr. Ayoub Tartir. Planning is not difficult if you have necessary details in hand, and use proper tools and techniques. 

Flexible Planning seems to be more realistic and flexibility is required to be continued till finishing point to ensure success of the finishing stage

Planning is for me an easy process... however I got to sit back look over the entire project ,find the starting point ... and as soon as I found it everything else falls into place for me.

I think that Planning is a difficult process, if the project > project manager knowledge, experience.

Many managers are comfortable planning, but lag when it comes to actually putting the plan into action. hence planning is an easy relative step comparing to execution. That's why planning has to be a hard step in which leads tour execution to an easy actions..

It depends on the project manager knowledge, experience, and the project environment. In general, It needs a lot of time, effort, and stakeholder engagement to be an achievable planning.
