Intangible assets (assets that lose physical entity concrete) are those assets that can not be touched or weighed or measured as it can not be used to pay off the debt on the company and are usually minimal value in the event of liquidation of the company or exit from the activity, and the most common examples of assets goodwill and intangible royalties and Copyright Agency trademarks and brands. 

The Goodwill represents the value that increase the price by buying shares or a stake in a company's shares over the fair value of the net assets acquired for that company, and be fame as a result of many factors and circumstances that give advantages to the company and contribute to its ability to determine their value and profitability.

Investment in shares is neither a tangible or intangible asset. Tangible assets have a physical (for example buildings) form and intangible assets are for example patents or trademarks.
