Dear Total station has not his own system. we can work in any system with total station. Whereas GPS has it default WGS84 system. But we can work with any projection after calculation of parameters and transformations and feed them in GPS.
Presently I am using Topcon2200 and before I was able to use SOKKIA Set530. I am using these total stations with GPS projection system as my reference in conducting lot relocation survey. I have observed the difference of several projection systems. I always prefer using total station for my data collection, layout/setting out points, resection, etc.
