Now a day degrees and certificates becomes the status symbol. Students are dying for high percentage.90%95% etc. Parents just want to showcase the mark memo of their wards without knowing that whether their child is really good enough or not. In such situation what is more important degree or knowledge??

As far as present era is concerned both the degree and knowledge are of great importance. If u have only knowledge or only degree u can't do anything.
degree is like body and knowledge is like soul. So both are incomplete without one another.
